“ As a musician and an entrepreneur, I've been writing newsletters for upwards of 20 years. I've taken numerous courses and workshops, and have written multiple hundreds of newsletters in my life. Write Better Newsletters is one of the most comprehensive, clear and empowering sources on the subject that I've encountered. Camille's writing style is succinct, generous, and delightfully funny."

In addition to technical advice, [Freeman] helps writers get out of their heads about writing—which is extremely useful considering how often our minds are the greatest obstacle we face. [She] provides exceptionally clear guidance, yet encourages readers to follow their gut and make their newsletters their own. There is nothing final about her advice, leaving room for alteration and growth. Every chapter ends with a list of reminders (parsing the content to the main takeaways) and action steps. Her tasks walk readers through the entire process of creating a newsletter,

But the magic of Freeman book is the sense of ethics she brings to the topic. Yes, the book is for business newsletters, but Freeman steers clear of any gimmicky strategies, opting for authenticity. She encourages readers to consider the way they engage with their potential clients before focusing on their numbers.

Camille's warm voice and common sense suggestions make this a useful book with practical, actionable guidance. I have put to use her "make an email template" suggestion and found that it's a simple, helpful step in streamlining my newsletter process.

I used this book to grow an email newsletter for my one-on-one Pilates business. It's been a very successful way for me to fill openings in my schedule and communicate studio happenings to my clients. It's also been a great way for potential clients to get to know me before working with me one on one.
